2014 Failla Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast Hirsch Vineyard $90
Hirsch Vineyard, one of Sonoma's highly regarded vineyards and a source of fruit for many top wineries, is located west of Cazadero at 1500' elevation. It is surrounded by forest and only three miles from the ocean. The site is a mixture of sandstone and mixed rock with diverse geological and climatic conditions. The result is an exceptional bottling of Pinot Noir just begging to be opened on a special occasion. It is dense, concentrated, and layered with notable floral aromatics. Beautiful!
David Beaupère “La Croix de la Bottière" Juliénas $26
Julienas might not be as recognizable as some of the other Beaujolais cru's, but we have found a lovely one. It is organically grown and the perfect Turkey day wine. There is good weight and balance of lively fruit, earth, and minerality, with a long persistent finish that will hold up nicely against filling side dishes.
2015 Brundlmayer Kamptal Riesling Terrassen $24
We are crazy for Riesling! It may be the single most under-appreciated white wine. Some examples of Rielsing can reach astounding heights in terms of quality and an unmatched ability to pair with a wide range of food. This dry expression of the grape is an excellent value with expressive acidity, citrus and stone fruits and herbs.
2016 Donnhoff Oberhauser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett $28
Another excellent Thanksgiving meal pairing is one of our favorite Kabinetts (off-dry) with notes of spice, apple, and slate. Oberhauser Leistenberg is a famous site on slate soils from one of Germany's top producers. The wine is known for it's excellent minerality and acidity.
Laurent Lequart Extra Brut L'Heritiere $41
Laurent Lequart is a new producer to our Champagne shelf! This bottling is festive, lively, and zesty wtih lots of freshness. It is a finely balanced well knit Champagne that goes down incredibly easy. The L'Heritiere is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay.
2016 Alfredo Maestro Amanda Rosado de Lagrima $23
Yep, rosado made the pack this time because let's face it, this isn't your everyday quaffer! This rosado contains organically farmed Garnacha Tintorera grapes from Castilla y León. It is savory with a fuller body, along with noticeable richness and texture. Try pairing with charcuterie or a meat course.
